Fact-checking and sources
How Sydney.tips checks changeable transport, access, safety and visitor information and shows readers where to verify it.
Practical travel information changes. Sydney.tips treats source quality, the date of review and the limits of each claim as part of the content.
Source priority
We prefer the organisation responsible for the fact: Transport for NSW for network information, the Bureau of Meteorology for official warnings, councils for managed beaches and parks, national parks authorities for alerts, and the venue itself for access or opening details. Independent sources may add context but do not override the responsible authority.
Verification process
Research compares the visible claim with current source pages and avoids copying precise prices or hours when a live official link is safer. Conflicting or unclear information is qualified, omitted or flagged for further review. Sources are linked near the relevant guide or in its official-sources section.
Dates and limits
“Facts last checked” records a real editorial review, not a software deployment. Readers should still confirm time-sensitive information before travel and follow current signs, staff directions and emergency warnings.
